Abstract submission guidelines
Abstracts should be submitted in English.
Abstracts that are submitted must NOT have been previously presented in any other conference or published in any journals
Abstracts must be submitted by the deadline of 30th November, 2011. All abstracts must be submitted by e-mail to nationalconference2012@gmail.com. Please indicate clearly as subject “Abstract submission for National Conference on Students’ Medical research- 2012”
Format of Abstracts
Title – Please be as brief and explicit as possible. Do not use abbreviations or acronyms in the title.
Name(s) of Author(s) –
First author: Type the complete name.
Co-authors: Type the complete name. The co-authors are citied in order of their contribution to the study; main contributors should be listed first.
Abstract Text – Please follow the structured format, indicating in bold the five parts of your abstract:
- Limit the text to 300 words
- A 12 point font, times new roman, 6 lines per inch, should be used
- Use subtitles to mark the parts of the abstract;
- Background – provide the background to the problem/issue
- Objectives – state the purpose of the study (research question) or a hypothesis
- Methods – methods used to address the objectives
- Results – the results obtained in summary form
- Conclusion – a summary of your findings which are supported by your results.
- Always define abbreviations and acronyms including standard measures. Place special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the full word the first time it appears.
- Each abstract must be complete i.e. it must include all information necessary for its comprehension and not refer to another text
Contact Author
All abstracts must identify a contact author. All information will be sent to the contact person. It is his/her responsibility to communicate this information to any additional authors.
Notification of acceptance
The abstracts which require modification for acceptance shall be intimated within 5 days of receipt. Notification of abstract status and detailed instructions will be given to the contact author listed on the abstract by mail. The complete schedule of all abstract presentations will be finalized by 2nd or 3rd week of December 2011.
Presenting Author
Presenting author(s) must register for the conference and pay the appropriate registration fee. Only one person will be allowed to present. Presenting author will be given the certificate of presentation and other authors will be given participation certificate provided they register for the conference
Note: All the accepted papers will be printed in the proceedings of the conference. The print will be circulated among a groups interested in research. The abstracts will also be put up in the website of the department after the conference.
